Sled dogs on campus?

So today, I was given more direction on my new position...Yay!!

But there are a few nice things to talk about as well.

Everyone has been particularly nice. SO nice in fact, I wonder if it's all real up here.. Students are stopping by, introducing themselves and feeling me out to see how legit I am..impressed with folks's niceties...

Was asked to chaperone an event in Seward soon...been to lots of programs, with more to come this weekend...got my on-calls down until September.. 8 weeks of lockdown...but it will be all worth it..

Got hit with a new one today...a husky/musher kennel project...on campus...housing 7 dogs on campus in a kennel...student fought for a chance to make it a reality...now its in a trial period...should be interesting....

How many college campuses do you know of, with a sled dog kennel on campus? I am pretty sure that this would be a first...

Aloha Hard!

All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go, I'm standin' here outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say goodby, But the dawn is breakin' it's early morn
The taxi's waitin' he's blowein' his horn, Already I'm so lonesome I could die
So kiss me and smile for me, Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go, Cause I'...m leavin' on a jet plane
Don't know when I'll be back again

Aloha Hawaii, you've been good to me...A hui hou kakou, mahalo nui loa! Cheeeeeehooooo my bradahs and sistas!

New Beginnings

Moving to Anchorage at the end of the month...a few more days left in Honolulu.

I decided with a help of a friend, that I am going to start writing on here more often and with a story a week to regale to the world.

So, in the new future, look out for a new story...mostly funny happenings to me or my friends, but mostly stupid situations I have put myself in or things I have witnessed...

Crossroads of Emotion

I sit here at the precipice of an all too familiar emotion
Yet I promise myself that this one will be different
That this adventure will be the one that changes everything

My life will change for the better
My life will be no worse for the wear

Just how much investment should I rely on
From the one that is holding my heart in the balance of their fragile mind

Am I doomed from the start, destined to be disappointed
Why do I put myself in this precarious position
To have my true essence disposed of so easily

My excitement wanes when it should be soaring
As I get the hint that the threshold of harmony is about to be violated
From which it may never recover
As I let my true feelings spill forth

Mistakenly I let my true colors show, I reveal who I really am
And that is too much, in this time and place, in the here and now
Is it too much to want something more, to feel loved in at least some part of your life

Destined to be unlucky, to still be searching for your bearer of the torch
The torch that lights the fire in your eyes, in your heart, and your very soul
The passionate flames igniting something primal inside of you

And my head keeps spinning, I can't stop having these visions.
I gotta get with it or get over it
